Yuting Dai

Dr. Dai earned her Doctor of Psychology at the Wright Institute, Berkeley, California, and was licensed as a clinical psychologist in Virginia (0810008081). Before that, she earned her Master of Arts in Psychology at the Pace University and her Bachelor of Arts in Psychology at the University of Arizona.

During her doctoral training, she has accumulated over 1200 clinical hours. The majority of her clinical training has been in community mental health clinics working with adults who were diagnosed with moderate to severe mental disorders. She was also trained in working with children and teenagers. Additionally, she has experience doing couple’s work and family therapy.

She specializes in psychodynamically oriented therapy. She believes therapy is not “one-size-fits-all,” and the agenda inside the room is tailored to each client’s need, and the role of the clinician is to assist the client to increase self-awareness and have the client make his/her knowledgeable decisions. The analogy she uses is “a good clinician should serve as a high-definition mirror which helps the clients to see themselves with as little distortion as possible.”
