Zeyu (Jessie) Liu

Jessie is a mental health counselor working in this field for 4 years, with 1200+ hours of direct counseling service. She has a bachelor’s degree in psychology from Mount Holyoke College, U.S., and a master’s degree in counseling and mental health services from University of Pennsylvania, U.S. In 2021, Jessie has finished training and returned China for intern and practices under supervision till the present. Living and pursuing education in the United States for over 7 years, Jessie has associated with people from different socio-economic status, nationalities, sexual orientations, and etc., she enjoys working in a multicultural environment.

Jessie has sufficient experiences in conducting intake assessments and providing individual counseling sessions. She adapts a humanistic-based integral orientation in her professional work, unifying techniques from other approaches including Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy, Solution-Focused Brief Therapy and Person-Centered Therapy to support her clients. Jessie believes the core working with clients is building therapeutic rapports, thus she focuses on clients’ needs and goals, and help them explore inner strengths in a self-motivated manner, by using integral, culturally sensitive and humanistic strategies.

Jessie provides counseling in both English and Mandarin Chinese. Target population including adolescents aged 10 years old and above, and adults. Areas of interests include general mood disorders, personal growth, self-exploration, mild to moderate anxiety disorders, mild to moderate depressive disorders, stress and trauma.
