Fernando E. Loredo

Fernando Loredo is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) from the U.S.  He holds bachelor degrees in Psychology and History, as well as a Masters in Family Therapy from the University of Houston.  His primary focus has been in addressing relationship distress within marriage and family systems, yet also has extensive experience in working with adult individuals addressing relational wounds (past or present).

Addressing specific issues such as Depression, Anxiety, PTSD, and Addictions that impact the individual and their primary relationships are among the most common issues that he specializes in. Prior to moving to Shanghai, he worked at a Veterans Hospital system in the United States where he received extensive training and experience in addressing substance use disorders and trauma.  He is also well-experienced in addressing issues that arise from cross-cultural settings and impact relationships.

He utilizes a collaborative approach with his clients while maintaining a systemic framework that highlights the relational context of our lives.  Treatment is designed to be client-centered and goal-oriented while utilizing several Evidence-Based Practices such as CBT, Bowenian Family Therapy, Integrative Behavioral Couples Therapy, EFT, MI, and Gottman techniques to achieve positive outcomes for all individuals involved.

Above all the training and experience being applied in a given session, Fernando brings a gentle spirit into a room that creates a safe environment for addressing every day communication problems to the deep wounds and struggles we experience in life.
