A word to Clients…
I understand how daunting it is to start the process of getting help, and even more draining when it doesn’t work out. I’ve been there too. I believe in listening, empathizing, and being corrected when I am wrong – in order to help my clients find the path that they were always meant to be on. However, what I believe more is using new findings from neuroscience and research tested effective treatment modalities. Have you ever had the thought – “Well I know what I am supposed to do, but I just can’t do it ! ”. You are not alone. Our ways of being are often learned somatically and emotionally, not just cognitively and logically. Therefore, we can really struggle if we try to change our behaviors and cognition via the logical intentional route. Using new tools benefitted from trauma research, I believe I can help in helping you get unstuck, and am excited to be on the sidelines in watching you find yourself.
How we will work together …
First and foremost, I believe in collaboration. This is your life, and you know best, even if you don’t believe that now. I am trained in a treatment modality called Life-Span Integration and Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing(EMDR). These are trauma treatment protocols that aims at neuro-integration; and no you don’t need to have gone through a major traumatic event to benefit from trauma treatment3. The brain is a powerful organ, it is capable of growth and repair throughout the human life. Wouldn’t it be great to harness that power for our own use so we can feel more calm and resourceful against life’s challenges?
I also work with couples to help them find safer and more authentic ways of being with each other. Closed ones can bring out both the best and worst in us. Many times we can learn more about ourselves in the context of a dyadic than just ourselves as individuals. Whether you are coming as an individual or with a significant other, this can become highly enriching work. Beside these, I had extensive experience working in addiction based settings with underprivileged folks. Addiction doesn’t discriminate, it is also not just about substances; It can be whatever we hold onto that is undercutting our quality of life – work, shopping, tech-use, or even a relationship. Mindfulness and meditation is an important component to my work, not just the practice of it, but also the understanding of how it work for you now.
