Dr. Richard Wise

Dr Wise is a licensed clinical psychologist who provides psychological assessment and intervention for adults and young adults experiencing mental health conditions. He has experience assisting with a broad range of mental health issues including depression, anxiety disorders, stress and burnout, substance use issues, panic, OCD, and personality disorders. He is the Director of University Counselling Service at University of Nottingham Ningbo China, and the Clinical Director of Wise Psychology. He is also an AHPRA board-approved supervisor who is approved to provide supervision for students, clinical psychology registrars, registered psychologists, and clinical psychologists.

In clinical practice, Dr Wise draws from a range of psychotherapies including Schema Therapy, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, and other Mindfulness-based approaches.

He received his doctorate in clinical psychology from Monash University in Melbourne, Australia, where his research examined the interplay between acute stress, personality, and decision making in the context of risk.

Dr Wise is skilled in clinical management, clinical governance, practitioner development, and client engagement.

He is interested in the psychodynamic processes contributing to personality development, interpersonal and organisational dynamic systems, and psychopathology.
