Emmanuel Simiand

Emmanuel Simiand is an experienced French psychotherapist and photo-therapist. He holds a Master’s degree in Psychoanalysis and Psychopathology from the University of Montpellier and trained for four years at the École Pratique des Hautes Études en Psychopathologie (Paris). Before establishing his private practice, he spent a year working as a psychotherapist and photo-therapist across two Parisian psychiatric hospitals (GHU Paris Psychiatrie & Neurosciences).

His integrative approach combines Lacanian psychoanalysis with influences from Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and Psychodynamic Therapy, complemented in specific cases by a photo-therapeutic practice aimed at strengthening self-esteem and self-confidence.

Emmanuel works with adolescents (15 and older), adults, and couples, offering a supportive space to ease emotional pain and anxiety and to foster the safe expression of emotions through empathetic, ethical listening. His work centers on understanding the underlying causes of conditions such as anxiety, depression, anhedonia, social withdrawal, identity issues, and family- or work-related difficulties. His practice welcomes neurodivergent individuals and those navigating heightened sensitivity, and is LGBT+-friendly.

Before turning to clinical practice, Emmanuel built a career in marketing strategy and digital communication for international companies and public institutions, and worked as a photographer and as an artistic and commercial director. He now teaches in these fields within an MBA program in Paris, with a current focus on the impact of agentic AI on international organizations. He also teaches prison psychopathology to members of French NGOs and serves as a supervisor for prison visitors.
