Bohao Zhang

I received my bachelor’s degree from East China Normal University in 2017 and was later awarded a master’s degree in professional counseling from University of Pennsylvania.

I have several areas of specialty including the treatment of various types of mood disorders, interpersonal relationships, personal growth and overall well-being of adults and adolescents. In my clinical practice, I have received systematic training and supervision in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Trauma Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT), etc. I also have extensive experience in group therapy, including Dialectical Behavior Therapy skills groups and psychodynamic growth groups.

I have over 7 years of clinical experience. Before joining United Family Healthcare Shanghai Service Area, I served in Shanghai Mental Health Center as a specialist in mood disorders, psychosis, personal growth, emotion regulation, interpersonal relationships and other issues in mental health. I am a licensed professional counselor in Pennsylvania, US, and a licensed psychotherapist in the Chinese public health system. In addition to my clinical work, I have also involved myself in the translation of publications including Core Clinical Competencies in Counseling and Psychotherapy, Intergenerational Couple Therapy, and the Cambridge Guide to Mentalization-Based Treatment (MBT), etc.
