Siyue (Mooney) Niu

Mooney is a Licensed Mental Health Counselor from MA, U.S. She holds a bachelor’s degree in psychology and neuroscience from the University of Toronto, Canada, and a master’s degree in mental health counseling from the University of Massachusetts, Boston, U.S. With over 10 years of life and educational experiences in Canada and U.S., she really enjoyed working in a multicultural environment.

She’s experienced in conducting intake assessments, suicidal and risk assessment, and providing individual and group counseling sessions. With a core person-centered approach, she also incorporates skills from other approaches including Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, and Solution-Focused Brief Therapy to support her clients’ strengths, helping them to set goals and make changes in a self-motivated and self-directed way. Mooney focuses on the specific needs and interests of her clients in order to build a strong relationship and foundation for therapy. She works closely with experts from multidisciplinary teams, provide professional consultation, ongoing support and resources for both local and international communities.
